2000 Silver Reels a Passport to...Success!
By Kathy Gubar, 2000 Reels ChairMCA-I/ ITVA members and their guests had a grand time at the 2000 Silver Reels Awards held Saturday, December 2, 2000 at Exploris in Raleigh. I do appreciate everyone turning out for what was an event to remember. The open bar reception was a big hit (DUHHH...) and I heard many compliments about the menu. Our chef, George Shannon was thunderstruck that I asked him out to compliment the fare! (I got his number if you need a personal chef for a special event. Plus ladies, he's single and he COOKS!).
I was a bit worried when the dinner lingered on and on and on–we do love to talk, don't we!! However, we recovered very well as the awards ceremony got the trophy for the shortest one on record- one and 1/4 hours!! So we ended the evening at a reasonable time after all! Exploris was an enticing location for our awards event, and John Gordon helped tremendously to ensure that all went smoothly. My entire Silver Reels Committee was indispensable in helping to complete an exciting and memorable Silver Reels Awards event. My personal thanks go to all of you: Joe Wood, Steve Mitchell, Melanie Raskin, Sue DiMaggio, John Gordon, Eugene Murray, Jonathon Demers, Kenn Buckner, Darren Ley and Tilla Fearn. Congratulations on a job very well done!
